What is Famipics?

An album for your family's photos and videos, seen by your family alone. There are no ads. Only the family you invite can open the album, and everyone can leave comments and reactions on the photos. It is free to use (up to 1,000 photos and 120 minutes of video), and for those who want to keep more there is Famipics+: unlimited photos and videos for ¥480 a month, one subscription for the whole family (within the fair use set out in section 7 of the Terms of Service).

Are the photos safe?

Photos, videos and comments are all locked on your phone before they are sent. Only your family's phones hold the key, so not even we, who make Famipics, can see what is inside. Where a photo was taken, and the rest of what the camera recorded, stay inside the photo and are locked with it, so only your family's phones can see them. The one thing we also keep unlocked is the day the photo was taken, so that the album can be sorted by month.

How do I delete my account and my photos?

In the app, open Settings, then Account, and choose “Delete this account”. You leave the families you are in, and their albums leave the app. If the person who created an album deletes their account, that album and every photo and video in it are gone, with no way back.

How do I open the album on another phone?

If you sign in with the same Apple or Google account, the album opens on the new phone as it is. With a different account, on the phone you already have, open Settings, then Members, and choose “Open on another phone” next to your own name. Point the new phone's camera at the QR code that appears, and the album opens there too. Whoever created the album can also use the QR code picture they saved at the start, or the recovery code they kept with it.
